Thanks for your interest in Haynie Guitars.
I bought my first guitar at age 10 and had taken it apart within a few
days of owning it. Needless to say it had to be taken to a
professional.
I've always been curious how things work and go back together so
in 8th grade shop I built my first electric guitar with a prefab neck.
Learning about the physics and engineering that go into making a
great instrument played a great role in my love for the guitar and
sparked the desire to build better instruments at a fair price. After
constantly being disappointed in the local techs I started doing my
own set ups and repairs with lots of trial and error.
I went to work for a large manufacturer after graduating from
SouthEast Tech's Luthier and finishing program in 2005. It was a
great experience seeing how big factories produce thousands of
guitars each year, but I soon realized everything I didn't want to do!
Music has been a true pleasure in my life. Whether working as a
Sound Engineer or building and repairing instruments, it’s always
been my goal to give some music back. In all of these years I've
only come across a handful of guitars that have been the perfect
color, neck size, pickup combination, etc. (and I have owned a lot
of them). There was always something I would have done
differently or wanted to change.
I want you to have the “perfect” guitar; a guitar that you wouldn't
change a thing about.
Whether it’s a custom build or mod to your axe, let’s make it the
guitar you can’t live without.
It’s important to understand the requirements and design of each
instrument, and build it and set it up to your liking.
I build each guitar by hand. Yes I build fewer, but this lets me fully
concentrate on yours.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
Sincerely,
Kevin

PHILOSOPHY
I build and repair each guitar as if it were my own.
There are no short-cuts to producing amazing instruments. The tone of the wood, the body shape, the scale length; are all part of the building process that only a luthier can offer.
I work to understand what you need, picture, and hear. My goal is to produce a unique guitar that looks, sounds, and plays the way you want.
